Join us for an evening of networking, food and golf.  

Our education program for the evening will consist of a panel discussion.  We plan to have an open panel discussion to be able to support with how best to deal with the issues that will present itself Post Covid-19.

Panelists:

John Zachara, Vice President at IFS, has more than 20 years of project management experience including budget phase through job completion in a variety of projects including commercial, retail, hospital, clincial, research, educational and religious facilties.  John is the lead member of a team offering program and capital budget management of a multiple site acute care healthcare organization and has completed hundreds of projects in various healthcare facilities.  John is an active member of the Lean Construction Institute Chicago Community of Practice and he was a member of the 1st Integrated Form of Agreement (IFOA) project in Healthcare in Chicago, setting the standard for how future projects should be built in the most collaborative way possible.

 

Bill Bernabei is the Senior Managing Director of Business Intelligence Consluting at CBRE.  He is responsible for leading busienss intelligence efforts to develop business focused insights for CBRE's GWS accout base globally.  Current responsilibites include supporting embedded strategists (Center of Excellence) and providing variable consulting servies that work closely eith their clients who are focused on analytics and other data-related activities and services.  Bill also serves as an advisor on GWS strategic initatives, such as the firm's overall enterprise Business Intelligence vision.  He is a graduate of University of Illinois.  

Kevin Hickey was born and raised in Chicago’s iconic south side neighborhood, Bridgeport. His family has been a part of the Bridgeport business, political and social community for over five generations.  He began his professional career in the restaurant business at his uncle’s restaurant in the Gold Coast while a high school student at De La Salle Institute in Bronzeville. This led to a 35-year career that began to take shape when he attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout and later when he began workingfor Four Seasons hotels and resorts in Beverly Hills. Eventually his career with Four Seasons took him to Dublin, London and Atlanta before coming back to his native Chicago in 2004.  First at The Ritz Carlton Hotel as Executive Chef and eventually the Four Seasons Chicago as Executive Chef & Restaurant Director where he led his team to two consecutive Michelin Stars and AAA Five Diamond status with the restaurant Seasons, and eventually opening the acclaimed restaurant, Allium.

Chef Hickey’s highly anticipated Bridgeport venture, The Duck Innopened in 2014. The Duck Inn is a neighborhood Tavern and Dining Room that is housed in a pre-prohibition era tavern that has continuously operated for almost a century. It showcases Chef Hickey’s seasonally driven, modern American cuisine as well as an extensive beverage program filled with craft beers, contemporary cocktails and a creative wine service. In November 2015, The Duck Inn was named as one of the “Best New Restaurants in America” by Esquire Magazine, awarded a coveted Bib Gourmand by Michelin, named to the Top 10 restaurants in America by USA Today and chosen as Restaurant of the Year by Eater Chicago.The Chicago Tribune named Kevin Hickey, Chef of The Year for 2015.

Kevin and The Duck Inn launched new projects, Duck Inn Dogs& Decent Beef, craft, fast food concepts featuring the Duck Fat Dog made famous at The Duck Inn and Prime Rib Italian Beef Sandwiches. The first of many opened at TimeOut Market in the West Loop in 2019. Kevin’s company, The Chicago Butcher,is a wholesale and retail food company focused on craft hot dogs, sausages and condiments.

Kevin Hickey lives in Bridgeport with his family on the street he grew up on. His son attends Whitney Young High School down the street from The Duck Inn and his wife focuses her time on family, the gardens of The Duck Inn and philanthropic endeavors.

Chef Hickey is also actively involved in several philanthropic organizations including the Greater Chicago Food Depository, Kitchen Possible and The Constitutional Rights Foundation of Chicago and was an instrumental member of the Illinois CMAP committeeon the Bridgeport & Canaryville Development Plan.

Jeff Lewis, AIA, LEED AP directs Shive-Hattery's South Shore Corridor and leads their national workplace practice.  He has forged lasting relationships with Corporate Clients and has made Shive-Hattery a go to design team member for Real Estate Firm's Project Management Teams.  His knowledge and engaging personality allows him to build easily work with diverse project stakeholders.  He understands corporate culture, the challenges of change management, and the importance of balancing project drivers; function, design, budget and scheduling.  He manages project teams to assure they deliver on their commitments to his clients and to each other, which has built trust with his clients and throughout the design and construction industry.  He is a graduate of Ball State University.
